A Creative Workshop

Letters of the Alphabet

As creative professionals, it is crucial to not only teach ourselves to look at the world in new and interesting ways, but to learn to summon our creative juices quickly! One way the team at Argyle Octopus tries to tackle this is by completing a project every week out of “Creative Workshop–80 Challenges to Sharpen Your Design Skills,” by David Sherwin.

Sketch out a logo without removing your pencil from the paper, or design something completely opposite your taste. Pick one everyday item, off the top of your head, and design ads for three different products, all featuring your item. But there’s a catch…you must do it quickly!

Our latest endeavor was to photograph abstract versions of all 26 letters of the alphabet, formed out of the objects or space around us. Take a look at what we found, above.
What do you do to keep your design skills sharp?
